Don’t like wearing the seat belt? that’s insane!

If you are one of those people who think that seat belts are unnecessary, uncomfortable or even dangerous, then you need to read this. Seat belts are one of the most effective ways to save lives and prevent injuries in car crashes. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, seat belts saved nearly 15,000 lives in 2017 alone. That’s more than the population of some small towns!

Seat belts work by keeping you in place and preventing you from being thrown out of the vehicle or hitting the dashboard, steering wheel or windshield. They also distribute the force of the impact across your chest and pelvis, reducing the risk of internal injuries. Without a seat belt, you are more likely to suffer from head trauma, spinal cord damage, broken bones or even death.

Some people may argue that seat belts are uncomfortable or restrict their movement. But that’s a small price to pay for your safety and the safety of your passengers. You can adjust your seat belt to fit your body and make sure it is not too loose or too tight. You can also wear comfortable clothing and avoid bulky items that may interfere with the seat belt.

Some people may also believe that seat belts are dangerous or can trap them in a fire or underwater. But these scenarios are very rare and unlikely. In fact, you are more likely to escape from a fire or water if you are wearing a seat belt, because you will be conscious and able to unbuckle yourself. If you are not wearing a seat belt, you may be knocked out or thrown out of the vehicle and unable to escape.

So, don’t be insane and wear your seat belt every time you get in a car. It could save your life and the lives of others. Remember, seat belts are not optional, they are mandatory by law in most states. And they are not a hassle, they are a lifesaver.
